Government

Empowering government and military learners to achieve their full potential.

Through innovative training methods, flexible enough to track partners' evolving needs, we bridge the gap between incoming trainees and government job requirements. Read below to see how we’re currently training soldiers and sailors in AI.

AI Technicians Program

  • AI Technicians: the "mechanics" that make well-maintained AI systems work. They provision cloud services, bring in clean useful data, select and evaluate AI models, monitor and maintain the whole pipeline.
  • We train 20-30 US Army soldiers per year, and are ready to scale.
  • On-campus training in Pittsburgh, full time from September to May.
  • Learn by doing: hands-on work on challenging projects, designed from research-based principles.
  • Mentored team work on real projects to integrate with trainees' new postings.
  • Options for your organization: integrate with existing Army AI2C trainings, or customize for your job requirements.
  • For more information, reach out to the TEEL lab or view the “IM-93 | AI Technicians: Rapid Workforce Training in the Age of AI” solutions video on the Tradewinds Solutions marketplace (governmental email required to create an account).

A Track Record of Training AI Technicians

Over the past five years, 83 trainees (warrant officers, officers, and NCOs) have successfully completed rigorous, full-time training, then transitioned into postings at Pittsburgh's Army Intelligence Integration Center (AI2C). Their integration into the AI2C posting starts with a four-month collaborative capstone, working on real AI2C projects, and guided by mentors from both CMU and AI2C.
